Thank goodness for the lustiness in the hot tub. Rob Corrdry and most of the gang return for more wild escapades through time.
Taking place immediately after the return of the hot tub travelers, “Hot Tub Time Machine 2” picks up at their supposed happily-ever-after. Remember, an infinitely depressed and suicidal Lou had gone back in time and altered the future to one where he didn’t feel like such a “loser”. When they returned home he was filthy rich and had cast himself in time as the founder of the internet.
In “Hot Tub Time Machine 2” he has dubbed himself the “father of the internet” and he and his friends are living out the spoils of their previous trip. Until Lou is shot in the bajoinkies.
To stop this heinous crime and catch the shooter, Lou (Rob Corrdry), Nick (Craig Robinson) and Jacob (Clark Duke) -- Lou’s nerdy son, hop in the hot tub for one more acid trip to the past.
Only this time they land far ahead in the future.
Though it’s not an emotional, epic drama “Hot Tub Time Machine 2” is a highly anticipated sequel. With the release of the Red Band trailer at Comic-Con the anticipation just got all the more electric. The trailer features a crime mystery that takes this psychedelic buddy film to the next generation.
We have the three returning stars from the original, plus Chevy Chase and the addition of Adam Scott, replacing an MIA John Cusack with a similar quirky and boyish charm.
Steve Pink (About Last Night) returns as the capitán executing another hijinks laced Josh Heald (Hot Tub Time Machine) script.
Expected release date? December 25, 2014. Merry Christmas, Terminators!
