The Host star Diane Kruger is featured on the April, 2013 cover of Flare Magazine in support of the film's March 29 release, and in her interview, she admits to being an unabashed fan of Stephenie Meyer's other work, the Twilight Saga.
"I actually happen to be a big Twilight fan, which I’m not embarrassed to say," she told the magazine. "It sort of appeals to my inner teenage girl."
The feeling, it seems, is mutual because Stephenie Meyer offered up some serious praise for Kruger and her work the adaptation of her The Host character - which happens to be the central titular figure in the in-the-works sequel, The Seeker.
"Really pleasantly terrifying," Meyer said of Kruger's portrayal. "Diane just can do this icy thing, but at the same time cover it up with, like, that warm, 'Oh, how are you?'"
Kruger herself said she was attracted to the role of The Seeker because it's "so complex."
"She has that Stepford Wife-y kind of niceness yet there is so much more underlying there: rage and anger," she explained.
