If you live in Wake County and are homeschooling your children, you probably have heard of the Homeschool Gathering Place. This is a homeschool bookstore located in Raleigh near the Crabtree Valley Mall.
Owned by Jim and Julia Harris, the Homeschool Gathering Place has been in business and serving the homeschool community for over ten years. As a homeschooling family, they saw the need for resources and started up their business to meet those needs.
With both new and used curriculum to choose from, the Homeschool Gathering Place should have everything that a homeschooling family could need. They carry curriculum from A Beka (used), Apologia, Beautiful Feet, BJU Press (new & used), Critical Thinking, Easy Grammar, Handwriting Without Tears and much, much more. You can bring in your old curriculum to sell on consignment as well as purchase from them. You do not need to make an appointment to bring in material to sell. They have a playroom set up in the rear of the store for your children to play in while you look around and shop.
The Homeschool Gathering Place is located at 5204 Hollyridge Drive in Raleigh right off of Glenwood Avenue. Their business hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm and Tuesday nights from 6 pm - 8:30 pm for adults only (nursing babies are allowed). This is a nice option for parents to come and shop in relative peace and quiet.

They offer curriculum, books, advice, and you get the opportunity to meet other homeschool parents. There is a bulletin board that lists events related to the homeschool market, as well as a table that has information on homeschool events (enrichment classes, upcoming conventions, tutoring, etc). Julia and her husband own the store and they're very helpful. Definitely recommended."
