Here's your chance to enjoy a family-friendly, educational holiday attraction that will be whirling you back in time to an old-fashioned Civil War-era Christmas celebration at Hale Farm & Village in Bath, Ohio. It is approximately a 30 minute drive from Cleveland.
Hale Farm and Village Lantern Tours On this 90 minute indoor-outdoor evening tour, visitors with lanterns in hand will stroll this historic Western Reserve village. The scenario will take guests back to Christmas Eve in 1863, the third year of the Civil War.
Along the way, visitors will encounter various costumed village residents who will share information about holiday celebrations, customs and traditions from the era. Visitors will be able to tour houses around the Village Green.
Tours depart every 20 minutes starting at 6 p.m. After the tour, visitors will attend a Victorian era holiday party at the Jonathan Hale House which will be decorated in all its seasonal finery. Guests will be able to enjoy some Victorian era treats.
As these are indoor-outdoor tours, make sure you dress appropriately for the weather.
The Holiday Lantern Tours will be offered on December 7. 13-15 and 18-23. Reservations are required. Admission is $20 for adults and $12 for children (3-12).
