It seems Peter Jackson has found his Bilbo Baggins, E! Online is reporting. So who is the lucky person to land one of the most coveted roles?

The studios behind the much-anticipated upcoming epic movie “The Hobbit” has casted British actor Martin Freeman in the role of Bilbo Baggins in the two-part prequel.

Jackson released a statement saying:

"Despite the various rumors and speculation surrounding this role, there has only ever been one Bilbo Baggins for us."

The casting of Bilbo Baggins isn’t the only casting news the network has announced the actors who will play Baggins' comrades in the film.

British actor Richard Armitage will play Thorin Oakenshield, head of the company of dwarfs. Aiden Turner and Rob Kazinski will play Kili and Fili; Graham McTavish as Dwalin; John Callen as Oin; Stephen Hunter as Bombur; Mark Hadlow as Dori; and Peter Hambleton as Gloin. There’s no word of Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis are on board to appear in the film.

The actors will begin filming in New Zealand this February, according to reports.

I’m still really excited for this movie. I do need to read the book before it comes out. I’ve read the “Lord of the Rings” books, just not “The Hobbit.”

Do you plan on seeing the movie when it comes out?
