A&E’s The History Channel and Pilgrim Films have issued a casting call for skilled and gutsy equestrians for Full Metal Fighting, an upcoming competition series.
Pilgrim Films has produced such programs as:American Chopper, Dirty Jobs, Extreme Peril, Ghost Hunters International, Swamp Loggers, Top Shot and The Ultimate Fighter.
Debuting this fall, Full Metal Fighting will display 13th Century jousting battles, as 16 competitors don armor and wield jousting lances aboard 2,000-pound war horses. The winner will receive a grand prize of $100,000.
Candidates must be U.S. adult residents or citizens with equestrian proficiency and extreme physical fitness. Participants may not possess criminal records or be candidates for public office. Additional restrictions may apply.
Applications, available online, are due by July 20, 2011, along with recent personal photos.
Successful applicants will be expected to travel to Los Angeles, California, for the casting semi-finals (August 21st through 26th). Finalists must also be available from September 17th through October 1st. Portions of this part of the casting process will be filmed for use on television. Travel and expenses will be covered by the producers.
The actual show production for Full Metal Fighting will take place October 13th through November 14th.
