The History Channel is a great resource for homeschoolers, visit the History Classroom for free history resources for middle to high school students. There are lesson plans and classroom DVDs geared towards various aspects of history available for purchase. However, there are also study guides available as PDF files which are made to use with the History Channel classroom programs. These can easily be used by themselves along with utilizing the free videos on the History Channel or by obtaining books from the local library.

Teach your students about what individuals need to know when applying to become a United States citizen. By taking the Citizenship quiz your students will be able to see how much they know about the country they live in. There is a teacher’s guide along with a PDF which includes one hundred questions. There is also a biannual magazine, Idea Book, which contains teacher’s guide for not only the History Channel, but also for the Biography, A&E and the Lifetime channel. You will also receive information about contests and ideas for energizing your students.
