The hills will be alive here in Northeast Tennessee this summer with even more of what fans of "The Voice" really want. Today, NBC Universal announced that their popular new series will be airing two-hour live episodes starting June 7. Currently, "The Voice" is in its Battle Rounds until May 31.
These types of television shows that chronicle a live musical competition are becoming even more popular. These two-hour episodes of "The Voice" will follow original episodes of the popular, "America's Got Talent," on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. ET. The scheduling is slightly confusing, changing significantly with each month's programming. Here is the information from the NBC Universal press release:
After the “battle” rounds of “The Voice” -- which will air on Tuesdays (10-11 p.m. ET) from May 10 through May 31 – the series will then broadcast live two-hour episodes on Tuesdays from June 7 through June 28.
“America’s Got Talent” will debut on Tuesday, May 31 as previously scheduled -- but now from 8-10 p.m. (ET) and then continue on Tuesdays, beginning June 7 (8-9 p.m. ET). Starting Wednesday, June 1, the second night of "America's Got Talent" will air from 9-10 p.m. ET. “America’s Got Talent” will begin its live shows on Tuesday, July 5 (9-11 p.m. ET) for the remainder of the summer season as previously scheduled and result shows on Wednesday from 9-10 p.m. ET.
Becky Tillison of Bristol explains that she likes "The Voice" better than any of the other similar shows.
I love it! It is better than "American Idol" because they go solely on the voice, not the looks, etc...
Becky is part of the Sage Family, a large (17 kids!) family of bluegrass musicians who are well-known and respected in the region. This family has innate musical talent down to the fourth generation, and much of it has been used in gospel music.
