The hilarious "Boychick Affair"

Company J at the Marcus Jewish Community Center

Opening on February 9th, Company J at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta continues its inaugural main stage season with an interactive dinner theatre event, The Boychick Affair written by Amy Lord.  At The Boychick Affair, audience members mingle, eat, sing, and dance with the rest of the “guests,” and enjoy a delicious Bar Mitzvah meal – including dessert – at the ‘reception’ for Harry Boychick’s unique Bar Mitzvah ceremony. This hilarious event follows a 13-year-old rap wannabe as he becomes a man in front of his wacky, but loving family. You’ll laugh. You’ll dance. You’ll eat! 

Running February 9, 11th, and 12th, the Thursday, the 9th’s performance begins at 6:30, the Saturday evening time is 7:30 and Sunday the matinee begins at 1:30 and again that evening at 5 PM. Tickets are available at the center box office by calling 678.812.4002. An opening night special ticket price is $25. A Year With Frog & Toad

A delightful family musical is next in Company J’s line-up, A Year with Frog & Toad. Cheerful Frog and grumpy Toad hop from the page to the stage in this wonderful family musical. Conceived by Arnold Lobel's daughter, Adrianne Lobel, A Year with Frog & Toad remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows these two great friends through four fun-filled seasons. (Performances: May 9 - 13, 2012; Tickets: $10 - $18.)

Spring Awakening

Company J’s season concludes with the 2012 Teen Summer Stock Musical, Spring Awakening. Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Spring Awakening is a rock musical adaptation of the controversial 19th century play that explores, with poignancy and passion, the turbulent journey from adolescence to adulthood. This show is recommended for audiences 17 years and older.(Performances: August 8 - 19, 2012; Tickets: $12 - $25.)
