Hennessy V.S celebrated the final stop of its Shepard Fairey Limited Edition Bottle national tour in NYC. The day started with an intimate media luncheon at the members only Soho House in the trendy meatpacking district. Taking place in the Library, guests were greeted with the a Shepard Fairey inspired “Revolution” cocktail and blown up images of Shepard in Cognac adorned on the walls. During the roundtable discussion Shepard spoke about the collaboration, his process, his love for Los Angeles and some of the notable entertainers who have commissioned his work. The conversation carried into a lunch of arugula salad with truffle vinaigrette, baked salmon, brick chicken and selection of baked treats.
The luncheon was the first time we had the opportunity to speak with Shepard Fairey about his collaboration with Hennessy. As we sat down to discuss I learned quite a few things about Shepard, including besides his own art work which other limited bottle of Hennessy was he most a fan of? He said Futura’s bottle was the one he liked the most. I also asked him about the secret messaging in front of the bottle, and he responded by saying that there’s a hidden peace sign in the middle of the piece and even though Hennessy wasn’t quite on board with that type of expression, that he felt compelled to add it because its what he stood for and what makes him as an artist.
To end the day Shepard played DJ, spinning a special set at the after party at Arena. Guests including radio personalities Miss Info, Laura Stylez, Ebro and Love & Hip Hop’s Rich Dollaz enjoyed the Hennessy specialty cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvre, photo booth and additional sounds by Mick.
