If you are feeling bored and saying, “There is never anything to do in Hartford…” then you must not be friends with DJ QT. Everyday his Facebook status is filled with times, dates and locations of where to be and what’s going on. And he knows first hand because most likely he’s the DJ. From Monday through Sunday tweets and re-tweets keep your phone vibrating with events he is working at or promoting.

Don't think he is just pushing his event and only trying to get you to come outside, QT really just wants to entertain you because he has something for everybody. For those who just like to chill in the house and kick back while its cold and snowing out, then tune in to any one of his four radio shows for some laughs and good music from unsigned artists to old school classics. No matter if you are at home or in your car; you can tune into him on 89.9 with Titanium Radio or the Hi Hater Show with Ms. E and Lovey XXL. If that were not enough to keep him busy he is also the official DJ for Poetz Corner TV, Musicology 101, and CT Apollo Night. But you may have seen him around at many other places, from being featured on Turntable Madness a DJ Showcase at Up or on the Rocks in Downtown Hartford or even at a kid’s birthday party with the big purple dinosaur Barney. Whatever the event DJ QT has you covered.

Aside from being busy on the turntables QT is also an established business owner, he is co-owner of, T.H.E. Spot a store on Franklin Ave in Hartford the sells everything from mix CD to sneakers . Then just when you thought he could do no more he along with partner A.D. run Titanium Heavyweights Entertainment; a local record label and promotional team dedicated to establishing, placing and exposing new talent. QT's genuine spirit of support for others is what makes him stand out from most DJ’s. He is definitely not all about self. While putting himself in recognizable positions he is also placing his artists and producers in places so that they can be heard too. He is on a fast track to success and he is taking everyone he works with along with him. From music to contracts he is on top of his business geared up and ready to take over 2011.

How did you get started as a DJ?
I got started just playing music for my parent’s house parties as a kid. Actually started off with two tape decks, it expanded from there. I was around the age of 9 or 10.

You are not just a DJ you are also a radio personality a store owner and anyone who knows you knows that you are one of the “heaviest” promoters in the Hartford area…what got you started as a promoter?
Actually, I got started off from a friend of mine he was a street promoter for Def Jam. I was promoting for 50 cents Curtis album back in 2007. I just ended up getting more jobs like, promoting for Ron Artest.

When was Titanium Heavyweights founded and what is the mission for the company?

Titanium Heavyweights was founded in 2006 by myself and my boy A.D. The mission statement is to provide Entertainment and Promotional Services.

You also are co-owner of a store called T.H.E. Spot  how do you find the time to run a business along with your DJ engagements and promoting for artists?

I’m usually at the store during the day. While I’m at the store I basically do all my internet promotions via face book, and a massive amount of emails. In the afternoon and at night I am able to DJ at the clubs or any other event they may have.

It seems that everyday of the week you have an event…what are your main obligations and how do you decided when to say “no”?
I try to do as many as I can. If I’m double booked that’s pretty much the only time I say no.

Where do you see your brand in the next year?

Right now I can say my brand is statewide. I was looking to go national and international within the next year.

Do you have any advice you would give to someone starting out as a DJ?

Starting out… just keep working at it, working at your craft because practice makes perfect, perfect makes you the best!

What is your definition of success in your career field?

I say me being successful is for me to be able to DJ at any type of event, to be able to travel, and just really enjoying my life and what I do.

How can people contact you to book you for events?
They can hit my email address up. Therealdjqt@gmail.com or they can contact me at 860-280-7400 or via facebook.
