15 years ago, it was impossible to turn on the radio and not hear the Grammy-nominated song “MMMBop," by Hanson, an incredibly young band made up of brothers Taylor, Isaac, and Zac Hanson.
But that was 15 years ago.
Today, the brothers are celebrating their third decade as a band by recently releasing their sixth studio album, Anthem, back in June of this year. Charting on the Billboard charts at #22 with a single, “Get the Girl Back,” hit #39 on the charts, Hanson continues to prove that they don’t need to ride the coattails of their smash hits of the 90’s, but rather are still a tour de force on the music circuit.
With 21 years and 16 million copies sold, Hanson is sure to have grown to find a sound of their own. From pop, their music has evolved into a sound echoing 60’s soul and Motown. Isaac describes the sound of the new album as “[touching] on most of our musical influences, a bit of soul, a bit of song craftsmanship, and some good old rock ‘n’ roll. This time it just has a little more fight in it.” Celebrating the ability of music to unite people and ignite passion, the songs of Anthem, with its shredding guitar riffs and melodies, are sure to be crowd pleasers.
For fans new and old, Hanson will offer something for everyone. They’re sure to cover songs spanning their entire career. Just leave your FUBUs at the door.
