According to Moviefone on Dec. 7, pretty soon the iconic blaster that Han Solo had used to shoot Greedo the bounty hunter in the first "Star Wars" movie will be going up for auction. A huge debate had been going around for a long time on whether Han shot first with said blaster, however, some lucky and rather wealthy recipient of the prop could get bragging rights if they acquire it as the winning bidder.
The approximate asking price for the move prop is around $200,000-$300,000. This particular prop that is up for sale is actually the less heavier variant to the one actually used by Harrison Ford in some of the fight sequences. It was produced from the same mold though.
The auction house notes specific action sequences in which the prop blaster was involved in certain scenes such as when Darth Vader forced it out of Solo's hand or when he wrestled it out of a storm trooper's hands to regain control of it on the planet of Endor.
This was the second blaster prop used for "Star Wars" as the first one, which was used on "Star Wars: A New Hope", was destroyed. The current owner is a former Lucasfilm employee and is contributing it to the auction with a letter of authenticity.
The auction starts opening up for bids on Dec. 21.
