This week has been eventful in terms of Halo news and be sure to check out my links at the bottom of the article for any of those news items you may have missed. Until then here are some other interesting things you may have also missed over the week.
No more Halo for MLG - Rumors are flying and nothing is official, but there are less and less talks about Halo and more about Call of Duty from the Major League Gaming team and @MLGSundance is at the head of it. This doesn't mean that competitive Halo is dead, just possibly dead for any MLG tournaments. Also it's not MLG's fault since Microsoft signed and exclusive deal with Virgin Gaming to handle tournaments for Microsoft Studios which 343 Industries falls under. Update: It's official, MLG will not be hosting "Halo 4" tournaments this year.
Spartan Ops mania - I'm not one of the lucky ones that got to go to Redmond and visit the 343 Industries studio, but Mitch Dyer of IGN was one of the lucky members of the media to go and has some really nice things to say about the remaining season of Spartan Ops. Check out the trailer and his review on the rest of the season.
More Halo 4 awards - And you thought the award season was over for video games. The Writers Guild announced their award nominees on Wednesday, Jan. 16th, 2013 and 343i's Chris Schlerf was nominated for Outstanding Acheivement in Video game writing along with Assassins Creed, Epic Mickey 2, 007 legends, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
Ladies! - Halo fan jasjemine decided to decorate her nails Halo style and thought to share it to 343i's community manager Jessica Shea. This looked like it took a lot of time and I thought the ladies of Halo might appreciate it.

- Great game - TeamCampbellNZ posted a game he had while playing posting a 30 kills and zero deaths including a Killamanjaro during the video. The original video is the full game (9 mins long) but it's worth watching him escape some close calls. He doesn't camp and doesn't host the sniper rifle the entire game.
- Respawn the series - Youtuber Freakin Rad posted the first episode of a new series they call "Halo Respawn". The first episode features a newb that finds himself in another dimension in between death and life.
- Rapid Fire Lazer - Vanguards of Requeim have posted a new video this week on how to make a rapid fire Spartan Lazer in forge mode. This could be something used to make a fun gametype in Forge so I thought it would be worth sharing.
- HaloCommunity 2v2 Nostalgia Tournament - HaloCommunity.com is hosting a tournament as a ode to the "Halo 2" era inside of "Halo 4". The gametypes will feature no Sprint, No instant respawns, and a 4 shot Battle Rifle. You will be playing on remakes of the "Halo 2" maps Lockout, Foundation, Elongation, Sanctuary, and Warlock. Registration BEGINS on Saturday, Jan. 26th, 2013. The tournament is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 23rd, 2013 starting a 3 P.M. EST which should give you plenty of time to practice with these rules. First place team will each win a "Custom designed Envy Controller" each with more details coming soon on this and the second place team will each win 1600 Microsoft points. Get your team ready and be prepared to sign up. I'm sending you to Ready Up Live because the details are better laid out there.
I'm currently working on an opinion piece on the status of "Halo 4" and how I feel about the game since I've been seeing a lot of negativity coming towards the game. Keep your eyes out for that in the next few days. Happy Hunting.
