I first started writing about the Guerilla Composers Guild (GCG) through their collaboration with the International Low Brass Trio, resulting in (at least) three engagingly innovative compositions by Eric Choate, Nick Benavides, and Danny Clay. Next month the Center for New Music (C4NM) will host the latest GCG collaboration, this time involving the Jarring Sounds duo of mezzo Danielle Reutter-Harrah and Adam Cockerham performing on guitar, lute, and theorbo. The program, entitled Making our Own, will feature new works by GCG founders Benavides and Clay, as well as Kyle Hovatter, Garrett Shatzer, Justin Ralls, Winton White, and Jon Yu.

This performance will take place at C4NM, 55 Taylor Street (about half a block north of the corner of Market Street). It will begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 24. Tickets are $15 with a $10 rate for students and $8 for members of C4NM. Information about membership may be found on the Membership Web page of the C4NM Web site.
