The Growlers produce record new record with Dan Auerbach

Costa Mesa "surf goth" band, The Growlers, headed to Nashville to record their third full-length record with Black Keys genius Dan Auerbach.

The band posted on their facebook, "Nashville," arousing the suspicion that they were heading to record a highly anticipated new release. Just a couple days later, the band leaked a string of photos that clearly showed them in the studio with Dan Auerbach at the control board.

The Growlers are still with Everloving Records for distribution. They have not revealed when the new record is expected other than simply, "early next year (2012)."

The band is highly renowned for their early 60's surf sound in which they have ascertained over time their own genre called surf goth.

2011 really propelled their career to a new level, obviously landing great opportunities such as recording with Dan Auerbach, playing Rock in Rio festival in Brazil and landing a spot on day three at Coachella.
