April is National Grilled Cheese Month! Who couldn't love a month devoted to the marriage of melted, gooey cheese, toasted bread, and tongue-pleasing add-ons? Nashvillians know how to celebrate by visiting the 2011 Best Food Truck, The Grilled Cheeserie.
On their menu, you can make your own sandwich from many cheese and toppings choices, most locally grown and provided, including Benton's World Famous Bacon. If you aren't that creative, or get overwhelmed by all the deliciousness, the specialty melts wait for you. These sandwiches are specially crafted by the owners, Crystal De Luna-Bogan, a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef, and her husband Joseph, a musician and foodie. Perhaps the Pimento Mac & Chee will tempt you. Or the B & B - local buttermilk cheddar cheese melted with Benton's Bacon and orange and apricot marmalade on multigrain bread.
They also showcase seasonal specialties, or "Melts of the Moment." Get out today and try the "Spring Time Melt" - Buttermilk Cheddar, Benton's Bacon, Grilled Asparagus, and Spring Garlic Aioli on Sourdough.
But grilled cheeses aren't the only thing they offer. These culinary geniuses also boast tater tots, tomato soup, chips, and for a sweet treat to end your meal, home made pudding that varies week to week. This week is Thai Strawberries and Cream.
To celebrate this Grilled Cheese Month, The Grilled Cheeserie has commemorative buttons available. These one of a kind buttons are only good while supplies last!
Eating these gourmet comfort foods daily can become addictive. Check out the Grilled Cheeserie's weekly schedule here. Also follow their twitter feed to find out news and information regarding their whereabouts!
If all else fails, just text "CHEESE" to 88000. You will be rewarded with their current location.
Happy Grilled Cheese Month everybody!
