With the LA Marathon on many runners' mind, it's almost easy to overlook a great race option the weekend after the LA Marathon. Maybe you want to keep the "runners high'' going, challenge yourself at a shorter distance, or perhaps  you'd rather stick to a half marathon instead of running 26.2 in LA. You're in luck with The Great Race of Agoura Hills and there are distance options for everyone.

The Great Race of Agoura Hills is on Saturday March 27, 2010 and it offers many different distances to race which is very unique. It includes a Kids mile, family fun run mile, 5k, 10k, and two half marathon options. The Chesebro Half Marathon is mostly a trail race and the Pacific Half Marathon is a road race. With all these options, many runners will be excited the week after the LA Marathon to get out there and race!

The courses seem to offer the best for all different kinds of runners, from trail running to road racing. The hills of Agoura should be blossoming with greenery and the scenery on the course should be amazing at this time of spring for the Chesebro Half Marathon. The scenic courses wind along tree lined streets and the Pacific Half Marathon will wind through Paramount Ranch, where many movies have been filmed.

A fun and family friendly race, The Great Race of Agoura Hills offers racers a lot of options and a fun post-race party that is sponsored by Dole. The race has been voted LA's best running event for the past six years and has been voted the best post-race party for the past seven years. The race also has a history of selling out, so make sure you sign up in time for the event. Registration fees are relative to most local race fees and every runner receives a medal for participating in the event. The Great Race also benefits education in Agoura Hills and Oak Park.

Make it a family event and sign up for The Great Race of Agoura Hills soon! It looks like it will be a great day full of many different fun events and will be the location of the best post-race party in LA all year!
