The Great Love Debate: 'Why is everyone still single?'

Have you been looking for love in all the wrong places, constantly singing the dating blues, or given up on love? If you have been perpetually single and want out of the dating rat race, you may want to attend The Great Love Debate next Friday.

Opening Acts, in partnership with, is proud to announce THE GREAT LOVE DEBATE tour will be coming to the Duke Energy Theatre at Spirit Square in Charlotte, on Friday, May 16th.

This lively, interactive Town Hall-style discussion and debate on the current state of the date will be comprised of an audience of 100 of Charlotte’s most eligible bachelors facing off against 100 of its most dynamic single women to answer the question, “Why is everyone still single?”

"We are thrilled that this unique, entertaining, and engaging event is coming to Charlotte,” says the event’s moderator, Arden McLaughlin, Charlotte Lifestyle Writer and TV personality. “Carolina singles are extremely passionate about love, the evening will be a really fun and exciting way to raise questions - and find answers!”

The May 16th show is the 17th stop of a 45-city national tour, and features a panel of the Carolinas’ most prominent relationship experts, including Laurie Berzack of Carolinas Matchmaker; Darshana Hawks, “Dr. Dar,” WCCB News Rising Dating Specialist and Relationship Success Expert; Brian Howie, renowned Women’s Coach and author of How to Find Love in 60 Seconds; Ellen Smoak, Relationship Expert, Media Personality, and author of Breakups are a Bitch; and Bridgette Wright, Style and Confidence Expert and Editor-in-Chief ofCharlotteSTYLE magazine.
