They are great indeed. Because not just Alexander the great but designers too deserve to be known for their greatness. The Fashion Institute of Technology presents an assortment of one hundred garments from fashion’s most prestigious houses around the world.
The first part of "The Great Designers," exhibit includes 50 ensembles and is now on view through May 8 at the F.I.T. Museum.
The exhibit was curated by the museum's own Valerie Steele, Patricia Mears, and Fred Dennis.
The trio selected at least one archival piece from each house that best represents its aesthetic, including an iconic red dress by Valentino, a glamorous saffron-colored ball skirt by Oscar de la Renta and a silver lame gown by Thierry Mugler .
The second half kicks off on May 23.
