If you're an orchid enthusiast, this is an event not to miss!
Offering a veritable visual smorgasbord of over 150,000 unique orchids from across the globe, the Pacific Orchid Exposition, in it's 61st year, will return to San Francisco's Fort Mason to delite orchid lovers.
The largest show of its kind in America will kick off on Thursday's Gala Benefit Preview and continue through the weekend for general enjoyment of the show and plant sales.
The Gala Benefit provides the first opportunity to browse and purchase from the best selections of orchids before the show continues to the general public. In addition, attendees will be able to enjoy live music, delicious hors d'oeuvres, live auctions, and last but not least, wine-tasting of some of California's premier wines including winners of the recent event, San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
If you are unable to attend the Gala Benefit, no worries, there will be plenty of orchids to enjoy and purchase in the upcoming days. Be sure to bring a camera to capture the unique beauty of these orchids - you may never see the same orchid again!
If you get dizzy from all the beautiful orchids at the show, step out onto the pier and enjoy the breathtaking view of Alcatraz and across the Bay, and grab some pictures along the way.
