The Grand Ole Opry is set to celebrate 88 years with a weekend “Birthday Bash” that began Oct. 4, 2013 and continues Oct. 5, 2013. The two day celebration will include three weekend Opry shows, backstage tours, line dancing lessons taught by the pros from the Wildhorse Saloon, Opry BINGO, free music from the Opry Plaza stage and a silent auction.
The silent auction will feature one of a kind items donated by big names in country music including Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Racal Flatts, Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, Alan Jackson, Darius Rucker, Lorrie Morgan, Montgomery Gentry and Little Big Town. The silent auction proceeds will benefit the Opry Trust Fund.
Performers that hit the stage on Oct. 4, 2013 included Kristen Kelly, Mark Wills and Kathy Mattea. Tate Stevens, Casey James and Sarah Darling will be performing on Oct. 5, 2013 plus Grand Ole Opry member Steve Wariner is set to perform a special Opry Birthday Concert. Wariner will also be making a visit after his performance to The Opry Shop where he will be signing copies of his new album “It Ain’t All Bad.”
