The Governors Ball Music Festival announces 2014 lineup

It's that time of year when the buzz gets going on Summer Festivals, giving music lovers suffering from Winter depression hopeful visions of dancing in the summer sun. To the delight of many tri-state area fans, Governors Ball has just announced their lineup for this year's blowout taking place on Randall's Island from Friday, June 7th to Sunday June 8th.

Last year was a memorable experience, seeing great sets from the likes of Kanye West, Nas, Guns N' Roses, Azealia Banks, and Kings of Leon, who made up their canceled Friday set due to a day-long rainstorm that drenched the crowd and the grounds, effectively turning the park into a giant mud pit that proved to be quite the challenge for everyone in attendance (read my wrap-up here).

But even the mud pit of death didn't stop festival attendees from having the time of their life, and going by the 2014 lineup announced today, surely this year looks just as promising. Acts such as Outkast, Jack White, Vampire Weekend, The Strokes, Phoenix, J. Cole, Broken Bells, Childish Gambino, Neko Case, Janelle Monae, Frank Turner, Bastille, Jason Isbell and more are set to play the huge fest. Click here to see the entire bill (set times/schedule to be determined). For more information, check out the Ball's official site.
