Personalities, journalists and bloggers including K. Foxx and Jas Fly discuss hip-hop media hierarchy on the forthcoming series "The Gossip Game." Speaking out in a clip released Wednesday, March 20, some of the women say bloggers are at the bottom of the proverbial ladder because they sit at their desks eating chips and doing other things that you might consider unprofessional.
"Don't get it twisted. There is definitely a pecking order in hip-hop media. At the top of the ladder are the TV and radio personalities like Angela Yee, K. Foxx and Sharon Carpenter," Kim Osorio shared with VH1 Wednesday. "In the middle are up and coming print journalists like Jas Fly. At the bottom are the online bloggers like Ms. Drama and Vivian."
While Jas Fly is positive about hip-hop media, noting that you have to love it to do it, there are others who aren't fans of bloggers that provide news, gossip and opinion based content for the masses.
"I'm not the biggest fan of bloggers," says journalist Sharon Carpenter.
Popular radio personality K. Foxx is more direct, joking about what bloggers are doing at their desks or wherever they write their posts.
"They can be eating chips, typing on the computer and masturbating at the same time," she says.
Moving on, one thing they might all agree on is the notion that it's not easy to be a woman working in hip-hop media. To that end, viewers will see these women fight for respect.
"I'm not going to be demeaned or belittled on the air," K. Foxx says at one point during the super-trailer. "That is not what I'm going to do."
