The Gospel message is clear as detailed in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Yet in our society the truth of the Gospel has become a blurred image of the truth with many different versions of the truth being circulated each one supposedly being, “the way,” to eternal life
“You can work your way into Heaven.”
“You only have to accept the truth, then you can do what you want.”
“I'm a saved I go to church each week..”
“God's a good guy he'll let me into Heaven I'm not worried.”
“I've got it covered, I do a good deed each day.”
The list is endless.
Paul says the reason for the weakening of the Gospel is obvious, “as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough,” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4.
Instead of standing up for the truth, many Christians remain silent, even to the point of seeing some truth in false proclamations. The key for separating fact from fiction for any Christian can be found in one place,“the Bible.”
The Bible was given to mankind not to be used in partial or part but as a whole. It was also given to mankind to discern the truth so each child of God will not be led astray by false testimony or teachings.
Paul states in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” Of course the only way to “rightly handle,” the “word of truth” is to read and study the word each and every day.
