What an amazing afternoon for gospel music at the Pre-Grammy show! Two of the gospel industry's best artists, Tye Tribbett and Tasha Cobbs, have taken one of the most coveted awards in music. Coming off of a whirlwind weekend at the Stellar awards, the gospel industry is yet celebrating great accomplishments.

It's one thing to be recognized by your own peers, however to be able to have the music world to validate your presence is another. Gospel music artist have had their struggles throughout the years with being labeled "worldly" for having a cross-over appeal. What we fail to realize is that a lot of people won't even darken the door of a church, but will listen to gospel music. More and more gospel artists have begun to make the journey outside of the church four walls to meet the needs of the street. The Clark Sisters, The Winans, Commissioned, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Dawkins & Dawkins, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin and others have led in the struggle to break down the walls that have existed to spread the gospel through music to the non-church goers. Today's generation of gospel artists, Tasha Cobbs, Tye Tribbett, Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, Erica Campbell, Deitrick Haddon, etc. have taken the helm.

Congratulations to all the Gospel/Christian artists nominees and winners.
