The Good Witch, starring Catherine Bell, returned for a sixth installment of the popular Hallmark original movie series on Oct. 26, 2013. "The Good Witch's Destiny" is a charming addition to the movie series about magic and love on Hallmark Channel. The popular series is Hallmark Channel's highest-rated and longest-running series, according to information from Hallmark.
“The Good Witch’s Destiny” stars Catherine Bell ("Army Wives"), Chris Potter (“Heartland”), Robin Dunne (“Sanctuary”), Catherine Disher (“The Border”), Matthew Knight (“My Babysitter’s a Vampire”), Hannah Endicott-Douglas (“Casino Jack”) and Peter MacNeill (“Call Me Fritz”).
Cassie Nightengale (Bell) is anticipating a birthday and her family and friends want to celebrate. Cassie's husband Jake (Potter) suggests an intimate dinner at a Middleton restaurant, but Cassie would prefer a party at Grey House.
Their family is growing up and Jake's children Brandon (Knight) and Lori (Endicott-Douglas) are growing up starting to go their own ways. Brandon is in love and wants to get married, altough Jake thinks he is too young to marry. Lori is studying and hoping for a college scholarship.
Grandpa George (MacNeill) is now married to Gwen (Libby Lennie, “The Good Witch’s Charm”), whose son Drew (Dunne) returns to complicate matters. Drew, who has a history of irresponsiblity, has returned to Middleton after a five-year absence with a story of a big business venture and a fiance. The couple consults (Disher), town busy-body and wedding planner, to plan an elaborate celebration. The ambitious wedding plans tank when Drew's contract goes sour and he runs out of money and his fiance leaves. Drew blames Cassie for his poor turn of fortune and vows to get revenge.
It’s just one in a series of unfortunate events that, one way or another, traces back to Cassie and her store, Bell, Book & Candle. Cassie continues to look for the best in people, even though the townspeople seem to look for the worst in the raven-haried beauty.
Lori is writing a story about the original Grey Lady, Cassie's great aunt, who mysteriously disappeared without a trace at her own birthday party many years before. Lori becomes concerned that the Grey Lady and Cassie have been cursed and worries that Cassie will also disappear before her birthday. There seem to be a number of disturbing parallels between Cassie and Cassie’s great aunt.
Cassie conjures up her own birthday celebration, dressed up as Grey Lady, and provides costumes for all her guests.
