In some shocking "The Good Wife" spoilers, the character of Will Gardner was shot and killed by an unhinged client in an incident that no one saw coming. According to The Hollywood Reporter on March 24, actress Christine Baranski said "The Good Wife" spoilers made her feel like she was losing a family member.

"It was like my husband telling me he was going to leave," Baranski said. "I just didn't want to hear it. I'm still sad, very sad."

"The Good Wife" star Julianna Margulies said that she actually cried when the death occurred. She said that his character was so important in the development of her character and now the death will make her character start to re-evaluate everything.

The death, while kept a deep secret by the production team, has been in the works for over a year now. Josh Charles, the actor who plays Will, told the producers that he wanted to leave the show so he could take on more varied work and this was how they set up to give him a perfect send off.

"I feel like I'm leaving the show on a very good note, and I know that the show is going to continue to get better and better," Charles said.

Josh Charles has been on the show since its inception in 2009. He picked up nominations for Best Supporting Actor from the Emmys, People's Choice Awards and Golden Globes.

"The Good Wife" spoilers for next weeks show indicates that Alicia (Margulies) will deal with the aftermath of the shooting and try to make sense of it. "The Good Wife" airs at 9 p.m. EST on Sunday nights on CBS.
