'The Good Wife' books 'Homeland' actress Morena Baccarin for guest spot

"Homeland" star Morena Baccarin has snagged a guest starring role on Chicago legal drama "The Good Wife," EW reported Wednesday (January 25).

The 32-year-old Brazilian actress is set to play a high-powered event planner at a large corporation who accuses creepy recurring character Colin Sweeney (Dylan Baker) of sexual harassment.

“I’m a huge fan of the show, I’ve watched every single hour of it,” the "V" and "Firefly" actress said. “Every actor in the cast is phenomenal and I’m so excited to be asked to join them for this episode.”

The site reports that a tweet sent out last April in support of "The Good Wife" helped Baccarin secure the role. She'll appear in episode 17, which will air in early March.

"We've loved Morena going all the way back to 'Firefly.' And she is doing just stunning work on 'Homeland,'" "Good Wife" creators Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. .

Baccarin currently plays Jessica, wife of suspected terrorist Nicholas Brody (Damien Lewis) on Showtime's "Homeland." The Golden Globe-winning series has been renewed for a 12-episode second season, which begins production this spring.

She'll also reprise her role on CBS' "The Mentalist" this winter. Baccarin appeared in a Season 3 episode as Erica Flynn, a woman who was found to be complicit in her husband's murder.

"She was apprehended and going to go to trial. But you don't know if she actually made it to prison," she explained to TV Line last December. "After all, she covered her tracks pretty well, and nobody could really prove anything."

EW also reported yesterday that Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) husband will show up in an upcoming episode of "Good Wife."

“In the next few episodes, Kalinda gets investigated by the IRS and just as the relationship between Alicia and Kalinda is starting to become warm again and [Kalinda] is starting to open up, her husband shows up,” said Panjabi.

“I think it’ll be interesting to see what she would have been like in a long-term relationship because so far we’ve only seen her manipulating people and having brief relationships with people. It’d be nice to see what she would have been like. I don’t know what’s planned for the husband but that could be one idea that they might look into. I’d like to see that.”

"The Good Wife" continues Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
