The good facts about the Raiders for 2012 season

Although the Oakland Raiders had a losing season this year, they did have some positive notes that could attribute for a successful season next year.

The Raiders.com web page published an article reviewing the Raiders 2012 season. In the article, there were some bad things stated and some good things reported as well.

This article, however, will focus on the good things that the Raiders established this year. Hopefully, these accomplishments could emerge again next year to help Oakland have a better season.

One was wide receiver Rod Streater who joined the team as a non-drafter rookie and finished the season with 39 catches. Streater is the fourth best rookie with catches in a season in Raider history.

Another good accomplishment came from quarter back Carson Palmer. The ex-Cincinnati QB became the second QB in Raider history to pass over 4,000 yards in a single season, finishing at 4,018. The best QB with the most yards in a single season in Raider history is Rich Gannon with 4,689 yards.

The Raiders passing offense also accomplish something positive. The Raiders attempted 629 passes this year, which broke the record of 619 attempts back in 2002.

Tight end Brandon Myers led the team with the most catches, 79 receptions for 806 yards. This feat gave Myers the most catches by a tight end in Raider history since 1986.

The Raiders offense was also the late scorer leader in the NFL this season. The Raiders managed to score 89 points in the second half, scoring in the final two minutes in the last 11 games of the season.

All of these positive pointers could be something to keep and bring back for the Raiders next year with, of course, some reinforcements.
