Have you ever wondered what the universe is made up of? What sort of “ingredients” of known and or exotic materials are fused together to form what we all gaze at night above us, space. Scientist believe they are on the verge of discovering a subatomic particle that is responsible for all the particles in the universe it’s mass. If this, “God Particle” does exists, would change the way we look at stars, galaxies and our own universe forever. On Wednesday, March 20th at 9 PM. Science Channel will air the premiere of, “Through the Worm Hole: Is there a God Particle” and unlock the secrets that may open our consciousness to understand how the universe works.
The world premiere special, hosted by Morgan Freeman, along with commentaries by researchers Joe Incandela, Fabiloa Gianotti and Lyn Eveans, will enlighten audiences and bring our understanding of the universe closer than we've ever imagine. This elusive subatomic particle was discovered as two protons, traveling near the speed of light, collided with one another. The data collected from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva, Switzerland, believed they have found the first discovery of the subatomic particle called, “Higgs boson” or better known as The God Particle. The possibility of a subatomic particle was first predicted by Professor Peter Higgs back in 1964. If evidence confirms the existence of this subatomic particle would re-affirm the fundamental Bosom particles and prove the the existence of Dark Matter which may possibly make up for 90 to 96 percent of the universe. If many think the news of this discovery has little to no bearing of our daily lives should think again. Scientists were uninterested in the field of Quantum mechanics but without stretching the boundaries of our knowledge of the universe we might not have today the conveniences of the transistors, microchips, mobile phones and computers.
Almost a year since the initial evidence of the “The God Particle” reported on July 4th 2012, the Science Channel airs new and exciting breakthroughs in Science and Technology. The network reveals secrets and complexity of the universe with high definition animations and thought provoking theories currently being research by brilliant minds around the world today. Audiences, after watching an episode from the Science Channel, are both entertained as well as educated. The host, Morgan Freeman, narrates the science documentary, “Through the Worm hole every week and the premiere of, “Is there a God Particle,” will air March 20th at 9:00 PM. And an encore performance on March 27th also at 9 PM ET/PT on the Science Channel.
