The Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) chose the show organization called The Global Dressage Festival (GDF) to use the Entry System for the World Cup, Nations Cup, and Concours de Dressage International (CDI) events. These events are expected to begin in January 2014 in the United States in Wellington, Florida. The total prize money well exceeds $500,000.
Although the Entry System has already been put in place, there seems to be a snag in the operation. According to American GDF-based manager Lloyd Landkamer, the Switzerland-based dressage organization FEI had not properly vetted, or checked the suitability of, the entry system before it was implemented in the U.S. Training for the Entry System was done online.
Other national federations have already processed their entries and are now closed for Christmas and for the New Year holidays. They will reopen after the deadline for entry. Some of the American officials feel that the Entry System in the U.S. is about as effective as the new American healthcare system.
