This fourth annual show & sale will be open to all ages free from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The event is being advertised as “SHOP MICHIGAN MADE” since every item in the show will have been made right in the Glass Academy, and there will also be live demonstrations.
The Oct. 19-20 show will also have a special preview party from 5-8 p.m. Thursday. Besides having first pick of the sale items, Glass Academy owner Michelle Plucinsky said that those attending the preview party will also enjoy finger foods, meats and cheese with breads for sandwiches, squash soup, and dessert cakes like pumpkin and coffee, as well as chocolates for tasty treats.
While pumpkin shapes are naturally the main item at the show, there will be other types of glass items out on display as well. For demonstrations, she said, people can custom-order their own pumpkin items.
“People can commission pumpkins with blue color and white stems, or any color and shape they want,” Plucinskiy said. “People can watch their pumpkins being made.”
People can go to www.GlassAcademy.com and order on-line the $50 tickets to the preview party. While tickets will not available for purchase that night, people are free to come in during the day before 5 p.m. to purchase tickets, while the gallery is open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. daily on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
