Even though computer hacking is not part of the tour, fans of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books and movies can follow in the footsteps of kick-butt character Lisbeth Salander during the Stieg Larsson – Millenniumtour. Run by the Stockholm City Museum, this walking tour covers locations from the fictional lives of journalist Mikael Blomkvist and his mystery-solving helper Lisbeth, who live and work on Sodermalm in Stockholm.

The city of Stockholm is comprised of 14 islands. Sodermalm, which should be familiar to fans of the series of three books, is a district in central Stockholm. Walkers on the tour will hear background info of the characters and author, Stieg Larsson, who passed away before seeing the success of his novels.

Mikael Blomkvist, played in the American movie version by James Bond actor Daniel Craig, lives at Bellmangatan 1, and that is where the tour begins. Other stops include Millennium magazine's office and Lisbeth's apartment. A history of Stockholm will also be covered, along with present-day tidbits. The tour ends at the City Museum where a Millennium exhibit is currently installed.

English-speaking guides conduct tours from October to May on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. The tour lasts two hours and costs 120 SEK. Tickets can be purchased at the Stockholm City Museum or Stockholm Tourist Centre.
