You don't have to have a drop of German blood in you to enjoy the Oktoberfest being held at the German Central Organization in Parma, Ohio on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14. And the best news is that you don't have to travel far to have a good time.
German Central Oktoberfest A golden opportunity for visitors to learn more about the culture, heritage, dances and music of the German people, the German Central Oktoberfest celebrates all things German (including authentic food) and offers continuous entertainment that all ages can enjoy.
Among some of the performers at the Oktoberfest are the Donauschwabische Brass Band, the Saxon Dancers, Hank Haller, the Polka Revolution, Gottscheer Tanz, the Fred Ziwich Band, the Kulturgruppe Dance and the German Central Line Dancers.
There will be plenty of authentic German cuisine to please your palate available for purchase. The German Central Kitchen will offer Schnitzel and Bratwurst dinners, sauerkraut, potato salad, potato pancakes, red cabbage and pastries. Knusperhaus will have hot dogs, pretzels, chips, soft drinks and water. The Pavilion will offer brats and sausage sandwiches. The Sausage Tent will have pizza and brats and the Vienna Cafe will offer pastries, tortes and coffee.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
