The Georgia Invaders of the PDFL reschedule combine

The Georgia Invaders of the Professional Developmental League said today that the team’s combine, scheduled for tomorrow (Jan. 12), is being moved to Saturday January 19. The Invaders will be playing their inaugural season in 2013 and were selected to face the Carolina Knights in the Kickoff Classic, an exhibition game that will be played in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at BREC Memorial Stadium the week before the regular season begins.

There have been many changes within the organization since my last update on the team. Lem Walton was Head Coach and General Manager at that time; he is now listed as the offensive line coach on the team website. Cedric Roach is now the Head Coach, while Maurice White is listed as General Manager and President of Football Operations. Zach Browning (QB/WR) and Vincent Fortner Bey (Defensive Coordinator) saw no changes to their area of responsibility. Defensive line coach Brandon Keeler’s status with the team is unclear.

The PDFL has ten teams that are evenly divided between two conferences, the American Developmental Conference and the National Developmental Conference. Georgia is a member of the NDC, along with the Palm Beach Crush, Miami Xtreme, Columbia Enforcers, and Carolina Knights, while the the ADC includes the Portland Boltz, Sea-Tac Cobras, Utah Argos, Boise Bandits, and New Mexico Outlawz.

The new player combine will now be on Saturday January 19, 2013. The Invader contact number on the website is (770) 549-5649-call for updated news about the combine schedule.
