According to Unilever, the company behind some of the world's most popular products, there will be 9 billion people on the planet by 2050, two-thirds of the planet living in water-stressed conditions by 2025, and there will be a 40 percent rise in food prices by 2020. How will the global population cope? In my opinion, by selecting smart home features, including energy saving devices as well as smarter and affordable interior design options!
Eco-friendly furniture manufacturers should partner with the high-tech "smart home" industry as well as green interior designers for more visible global exposure. There is a dire need for educating consumers on what is available to them in the furnishings industry.
