If you eat a homemade wrap lunch just two days a week, I bet you will be actively working towards three resolutions:
- Save money
- Eat healthier
- Lose weight
What is so special about a wrap? There are endless combinations and they can be full of many textures and flavors with a minimum of calories or fat. And they fill you up - unlike many salads or "simple carbohydrates" can.
Saving Money
The TBR Wrap (Turkey-Bacon-Ranch) I made today was made with the following within 5 minutes:
$0.35 1 La Tortilla Factory Smart&Delicious Tortilla (8 in a $3 package)
$0.15 Handful of Lettuce ($1.19 for 1 head)
$0.05 1 oz of an 11 lb turkey I bought for $9
$0.21 1 bacon slice, crumbled, from a $3 package of 14 slices
$0.30 half of a Roma tomato (this was the biggest per oz expenditure)
$0.10 drizzle of low-fat Ranch (approx cost - could be less)
Cost: $1.16 plus five minutes of my life. A wrap made at home is clearly a time-cost saving measure!
