Update 2/18/14: The puppies were put down on Tuesday. Rest in peace pups.

Frantic networking efforts are currently underway for three, terrified puppies who are kenneled at the Kern County Animal Control in Bakersfield, Calif.

The pups, described as German shepherd mixes, arrived to the facility on Feb. 11, and it is clear that they are overwhelmed with fear.

Ideally, puppies of this age should be living in a home with a loving guardian...they should be learning the rules of the house, going to puppy-training classes, playing and snuggling.

Instead, these pups are huddled together in terror - attempting as best they can to provide comfort to one another.
