The Franklinville Fire Department answered two fires this past week according to Pete Sulzer, the Frankinville Fire Departments public relations officer. You can click here to view photos.

On February 6, the fire department responded to a house fire on Whites Memorial Road. When the fire department arrived, they found that the house was emitting smoke and fire. The fire department was able to salvage a large amount of property from the house. They were able to find a pet dog that was inside and save him. The dog was unharmed. Estimated damage to the house was $61,000 and $19,000 in saved property. The following trucks and departments responded to this fire, Engines 82, and 84 and Tankers 83 and 84. Climax Fire, Eastside Fire, Staley Fire, and Randolph County Emergency Medical Services were also at the scene of the fire.

On February 8, the fire department responded to a barn fire on Old Liberty Road. When the first truck arrived, they found the barn and two vehicles on fire. The estimated total loss from this fire was $50,000. Engine 44 set up the rural water supply operations. Engine 8, Tanker 83, Tanker 22, responded to this call and Staley, and Climax Fire Departments, and Randolph County Emergency Services were also on the scene of the fire.
