"...he scatters his lightning through them" Job 37:10-12
The weather is the most powerful force of God’s creation at work on earth; it is unleashed energy by the Creator, God Himself. The weather has an effect on many things in life. A farmer’s success or failure depends on the weather; it can make or break a crop and cause financial ruin to growers. The weather also navigates the oceans, the land, and the air. It determines how people dress and even how they drive. It’s been said that in a human’s life, they are either in a storm, coming out of a storm, or entering a storm.
The weather in the atmosphere is similar to the weather and storms that occur in the life of all people. A cloudy day could mean feeling a little down; having a disagreement with someone, or not being able to pay that bill on time. Then there are rainy days when the bill collectors are calling, you hate your job, you got a flat tire, or worse, a ticket. Stormy weather in a person’s life can mean the lights were shut off, a not so good health report, or even a car accident. But when the winds really get to blowing, it can be similar to a hurricane. A divorce, job loss, or the addiction of a family member can wreck havoc on one’s foundation. And finally, there’s the earthquake; when life is lost, a violent crime has occurred, cancer is the diagnosis, or a devastating disaster such as 911 and Katrina takes place.

"His way is in the whirlwind...Nahum 1:3
Although storms of any degree can be frightening, one must have faith to know that only the God of the scriptures has all the forces of nature at his command and He has the power to unleash or restrain them at His will. The same God that produces the storms has the power to stop them in a person’s life. “The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen. He loads the clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning through them. At his direction they swirl around over the whole earth to do whatever he commands them.” (Job 37:10-12) So lean on God and trust Him; He has total control over the storms on Earth, and in the lives of his people. “His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.” (Nahum 1:3)
