Joe decides to open the floor to his followers, listening to what they want to do for their chapter. Amanda is the follower of the episode. She wants to help Joe get Claire back, and to punish Ryan for taking Claire away from him. She has a twisted form of love, and so it would have been great to have her talk more about love and who deserves happiness. She talks briefly to Ryan about this, but then the focus shifts to Ryan trying to manipulate her. Did you like Amanda?
Paul and Jacob are back on our screens! Paul isn’t doing too well, and Jacob’s mom can only help so much. Their storyline is great for numerous reasons. Firstly, it is probably the only instance where viewers will get to see a member of Joe’s cult have to explain themselves to their family. That being said, the writers should have had more of a conversation between Jacob and his mom about things, specifically Jacob should have actually spoken about it instead of just focusing on the fact that he has never killed anyone. Bright side, if you can call it that, is that Jacob finally murders someone – Paul. Their relationship is seriously insane, but the writers do a good job making the scene emotional, and it’s a good first murder for Jacob. What do you think?
Here are quick thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. Hopefully Roderick will continue to push Emma’s buttons, and call her out on her new love triangle. It’s an interesting tension to throw into the episode, and it allows viewers to see Emma out of control, which is rare for her. In terms of the Joe Carroll investigation, the head of operations is moving to Washington DC. It’s a little unclear as to what exactly this means. The writers will have to do more to show just how different things are now. Ryan and Parker don’t get to interrogate Amanda, but that is really the only difference shown. What are your theories on what all will change?
