‘The Following’ gets renewed for a second season

It looks like there are enough people following Kevin Bacon’s show, “The Following.” According to a March 5 report from BBC News, Fox has renewed the serial killer drama for a second season.

15 episodes have been ordered for the new season, which Fox executive Kevin Reilly calls “a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama.”

“I’m delighted to have this thrill ride continue on Fox for another season,” Reilly said.

“The Following,” which aired its seventh episode of the first season on March 4, has Bacon playing a former FBI agent named Ryan Hardy. He is called in after the serial killer he captured, Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), escapes from prison. After Carroll is captured and sent back to prison, Hardy discovers that the Edgar Allan Poe-loving killer has formed a cult following of serial killers, all of whom leave Poe-related writings/symbolism at their murder scenes.

“The Following” airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
