"The Following" Demonizes Poe

See also

Edgar Allan Poe was a delightfully weird writer. He wrote a lot of brilliant stuff that was quite murky and miserable, as he was, an alcoholic and a depressive. But he never killed anybody nor did he ever advocate killing anybody.

"The Following" is a TV series based on a cult group which functions under a very demented leader named Joe Carroll. The group idolizes Edgar Allan Poe and wear masks that look somewhat like Poe. They make killing look easy, ecstatic, something other-worldly and transcendent. In reality, we all know that killing is wrong and to glorify murder in this way is despicable.

The first series was somewhat interesting, although disgusting. But the continuation is just too much for anybody to take.

I'd rather read about the tintinnabulation of the bells...........
