Summary: Claire receives a call that might lead to the whereabouts of Joey and Joe tries to contact his former lawyer to deliver a message that may have deadly repercussions.
The show opens with Paul/Jacob/Emma in bed. Jacob goes to the bathroom while Paul and Emma snuggle. Joey goes downstairs and grbs a cell phone and calls his mom. Claire tries to find out where he is while they trace the call but Paul catches him on the phone.
Ryan asks if Mike can trace the call and he says it’s untraceable. Ryan sees Joe’s lawyer goes to see him. Ryan thinks that he is up to something.
Emma talks with Joey. He questions why he is there. Emma gets upset because he keeps saying that Joe is wrong. She tells him that the policeman are the bad guys. She says that the police are lying about Joe.
Paul goes to see Megan. She begs him to let her go. He says no. He says it won’t be long until she’s killed. Paul sees Jacob in the kitchen, wallowing. He brings knives over to Jacob trying to help him pick the knife to kill Megan. He tells Paul that he’s not gay and that he didn’t like what they did last night. He asks Paul to kill Megan for him and he says no. He says that this is about trust.
Joe meets with his lawyer, Olivia. She says that she can’t help him. He says that she owes him a few favors. 2010. Olivia tells him they lost appeal and suggests that he get a new firm. He says that representing him got her known. Present day. Joe says that he needs her to know what’s going on in the outside world because things aren’t going according ot his plan.
Ryan is watching Mike trying to trace the call. He sees Olivia on the news. It’s a press conference. She reads a statement from him. It’s a quote from The Masquerade of the Red Death. A man sees the statement and makes a call to another guy. He says that ‘it’s time.’
Ryan knows that it’s a coded message and that he’s doing something. Parker gives Ryan a gun.
Ryan goes to see Claire and tells her what they are going to do. He tells her to stay behind in case Joey calls. They hug. Ryan apologizes for how he left things. He says he wants tot talk to her after he brings Joey home.
Emma/Paul says they should call Roderick. Paul says that he’s worried about Joey. He overhears their conversation.
Olivia goes to see Claire but it has to be alone. She gives her a message from Joe. She tells him to go to a location and to go alone if she wants to see Joey again.
Ryan/Mike arrive in the Dutchess County, NY. They try and find where the house could be. They map out a plan, but sheriff says it could be 150 houses.
Jacob comes up from the basement. Paul calls his bluff. And Jacob walks out, Paul goes after him. Emma makes Joey lunch, but she can’t find him. Emma tells Paul/Jacob that Joey is gone.
They go and look for him. She says he just ran away because he’s scared. Joey is running through the woods when he falls. A man confronts him.
Claire says that she’s going to go for a walk and that she’s going out to lunch with a friend. Parker calls Turner and tells her what happened between Olivia and Claire.
Mike puts up pictures of Jacob/Paul/Emma. The sheriff recognizes Paul and they pull up Megan’s missing file case. She shows Mike the video of Paul at the convenience store. They enhance the video and it’s him. It limits the farms to 20.
The man brings Joey back to his house. She knows his name. She says that the police are trying to hurt him. Emma finds him. The man and his wife don’t want to let Joey go. They think that something is wrong and while walking back she gets nervous that the neighbors saw him. She tells Paul to go back and ‘thank’ them. When Paul gets there, the man is on the phone with the police and Paul comes in with a garden hoe telling them to hang up the phone.
Ryan/Lopez get a call about a call they got from dispatch about a call about Joey. They gets back home and she says he can call his mom but she locks him in his room. A man appears and tells her that Roderick sent him and that they need to go.
Claire meets with her friend at a diner.
Ryan/Lopez go inside the man and his wife’s house and find them dead. Ryan examines the bodies while Lopez calls it in. He knows that it was just done. Ryan goes through the woods to the farm next door. It’s the house that Joey described. Lopez calls it in. Ryan sees Paul and Jacob walking. He calls Mike and tells them. Ryan goes in closer to get a better look.
Jacob/Paul walk in to Hank packing and he says that they gotta leave.
Turner learns that they found the house and she send all forces in onto the house.
Claire goes to the bathroom at the diner and she makes it seem like she’s in the bathroom while she goes out the back door. Parker doesn’t see her. When he goes into the bathroom he sees she’s not there.
Lopez sees Hang making a call to a man who is waiting for Claire. Hang sees Lopez running to the barn. He grabs his gun. Hank shoots Lopez. Hank lines up a shot to kill him when Ryan comes in and shoots Hank.
Emma comes down the stairs after the gun shot. Her/Jacob/Paul go to investigate. Emma takes out a few guns and give them to Jacob/Paul. Ryan calls in Lopez’s injury. Lopez dies. Ryan says he’s going in. Joey looks out the window before trying to get out. He realizes he’s locked in.
Olivia goes to meet with Joe. She gives him an update. She says they found the house where Joey is. The press was all over the statement. She says that she doesn’t know if Claire took the bait. She is worried that she is a part of something. He says he used her greed against her. 2010. Olivia meets with Hank. He says he’s there to give her a message before taking out a pair of shearing scissors. Present day. Olivia takes out a pad and paper and see that two of her fingers are missing.
Claire goes to where she was told to go. A SUV picks her up.
Joey uses the curtain rod to break the door knob. Emma/Jacob see David and Lopez dead.
Ryan breaks into the basement of the house. He finds Megan. Joey uses his skateboard to break free. Ryan leaves her to go and find Joey. Ryan finds Joey but Paul puts a gun to Ryan’s head.
What we learned/new notes
-Jacob is having problems with committing his 1st murder and Paul/Emma are pressuring him to get it done, but it doesn’t seem like he will.
-Who are these three new men (Roderick/David/Hank)? How are they connected to Joe? What are they going to do? Is Roderick the #2?
-What does Joe have planned for Claire?
-Could this be the end of Emma/Jacob/Paul? What will happen at the end? Will Jacob finally get his 1st kill one way or another?
