The CDC has released new flu numbers and are projecting as many as 50, 000 deaths this winter by a strain of flu known as AH3N2 . I expect this epidemic to increase in scope and size and it is important to use common sense and caution yourself in terms of taking care of your own health this winter.
What is now an epidemic will likely become a pandemic, as five out of ten planets, along with Chiron move into Pisces during February, and Pisces rules infectious diseases like flu. Mars enters Pisces February 2, Mercury, February 6, the Sun, February 19, and Venus, February 25. Neptune is in Pisces until 2026. This is a huge buildup of planets in Pisces, and we will be affected globally by those things ruled by Pisces. It is not impossible we will hear news over the next several months of other strains of flu or infectious diseases that emerge.
The combination of Jupiter and Neptune is attributed to infectious diseases as well. Jupiter exerts rulership over Pisces and Sagittarius, and is retrograde at 6 degrees of Gemini, where it is considered at its detriment, or in other words it has difficulty operating positively in this sign. Jupiter is retrograde at 6 degrees square Neptune by 4 degree orb in February increasing (Jupiter increases whatever it touches) the potential for the spread of whatever infectious disease potential exists. Neptune also rules water, and weather related situations can help spread the virus, and we will see water related weather conditions on the increase, such as flooding.
The lunar eclipse of November 28, fell at 6 degrees of Gemini, conjunct Uranus in the US natal chart 6th house of health. This eclipse signals unexpected issues related to health matters in the US over the next many months. Jupiter (retrograde) is currently conjunct Uranus in the US house of health. Jupiter turns direct January 30, and we will see a turning point one way or another around this period, as Jupiter is conjunct Uranus in the US natal chart. Uranus is the planet of the unexpected and it always surprises us.
The most critical period will likely occur when Mercury retrogrades in Pisces on February 23, at 19 degrees of Virgo for three weeks.
Neptune and Jupiter, played a major role in the swine flu outbreak of 2009, as they were conjunct in Aquarius.
