Okay drummers, it’s time to show Orlando what you’re made of in the Blue Man Group drum- off. New to the Florida Music Festival (FMF) this year, the contest will culminate with the five finalists playing live on the FMF main stage Thursday to determine the winner.

It’s simple to enter, participants must film a 60-120 second jam session and upload their video to You Tube or Vimeo. The video must include your name, age and hometown in the title/description of the video and will be considered submitted once the link is posted to Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #BMGDRUMOFF.

Drummers need to jump on this now since the contest is only accepting submissions until April 18 at 3 p.m. On April 24, 20 semi-finalists will each perform a three minute session at Wall Street Plaza, with the five finalists playing later that night on the main stage, during the Florida Music Festival.

Contestants will be judged on creativity, technical ability and awesomeness by a panel of judges that include members of the Orlando Blue Man Group and celebrity drummers. Orlando drummer Daniel Blume and Landon Baker already have drum-off video making the rounds. Who’s going to be next?

The prize package is valued at over $6,000 and includes a Drum Workshop Inc. (DW Drums) kit, Vic Firth sticks, SABIAN cymbals, Blue Man Group VIP tickets, FMF all-access passes and more. Contestants must be legal US residents and 18 or older. For a full list of rules visit this page on the FMF official web site.
