The Floozies will party All Night Long Friday, January 25th at The Bottleneck!

The Floozies are a rising star in Lawrence and Kansas City, bringing party people the best music to dance to with new tracks and albums coming out regularly. The Hill brothers, Matt and Mark are getting ready to tour, starting with a big show at The Bottleneck on Friday, January 25th with opener Montu! Matt Hill is thrilled to be back on stage again.

“We live to play shows,” Matt said. “Everything we do is centered around making the show as good and fun as possible.”

In anticipation of the new shows, Matt says the band has a sweet new midi guitar. The Floozies are also excited to go on tour in February with Archnemesis and Wick-It the Instigator.

The Floozies‘ latest release, “All Night Long,” is a perfect example of the bands’ fun, funky, dance-party spirit.

“I spent a lot of time producing it and am very proud of it,” Matt said. “We’ve been releasing singles lately because each song takes a lot of time and effort and when we finish them we’re too excited and want to get them out to people. We also made a sweet video for it where Mark and I are goofy basketball players in short shorts that play by our own rules.”

Composing, producing and playing music takes a lot of inspiration, so Matt finds his inspiration in everything.

“I used to be almost exclusively inspired by listening to other people’s music but now inspiration comes from everything. Movies, sports, conversations, people. There are a lot of parallels that I didn’t used to know about and now basically anybody that’s great at what they do can get me going,” Matt said.

A live Floozies show is the perfect party. Matt and Mark rock out with every song, bringing an energy that’s as contagious as it is addictive. The Hill brothers’ sound has developed a lot since their early shows, but they’ve always brought the same spirit and energy while exploring anything funky with modern technology,

“We’ve gotten way better at it but I think the core idea is still the same. And that wasn’t really intentional,” Matt said. “We make the music we want to make, it just turns out that the music we want to make is funk. We just make it using new tools. I basically can’t consider a song done until I can’t stop dancing to it.”

One of the many things that makes The Floozies irresistible is the way they keep things fresh with new songs.

“We have a single called Stuntin’ coming out January 21st,” Matt said. “When I first showed it to Mark he said it was ‘so funky it made him believe in god again.’ I’m also thinking about making a full length album, but our lack of patience might prevent that. We’ll have to see.”

Starting their new tour at The Bottleneck on Friday, January 25th, The Floozies will be kicking off a great year of news songs and epic concerts! Anyone looking for a fun party cannot miss out on The Floozies!
