The Flat Tax is Flat Stupid.

This time it’s Rick Perry, an un-hooded executioner with a syrupy drawl, Presidential hair, and a dull wit. Perry is chasing Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 proposal, desperate to cash in on all that Tea Party fools gold with a 20% flat tax.

I'll keep my message simple: A Flat Tax is Flat Stupid.

If you make $1 million dollars and the Flat Tax Rate is 20% you still have 800k. If you make $10,000, and the Flat Tax Rate is 20% then have you have $8,000 and you are significantly closer to destruction.

The Flat Tax isn't moral, and it isn't fair, it's just a silly gimmick that the American people have rejected time and time again.

As for Cain's 9-9-9 plan: The problem with our country isn't that the lower 99% pay too little. Already pushed to the point of break by price increases and austerity measures that are often arbitrary, Cain's plan works to price people out of existence and makes it harder for people to support businesses.

Remember, this is a consumption based economy, and if we cannot consume, cannot afford to shop, and buy goods we are worse off for it. Conservatives can sing the song of "protect the job creators" all they like, but if people can't support job creation, there will be no jobs.

The right loves to speak about the evils of class warfare and they love to say that "we cannot punish success" but policies like The Flat Tax and 9-9-9 punish those still trying to succeed, and that kind of disincentive is toxic.
