The search is on for the Flash’s love interest, this according to Spoiler TV on Monday, January 6. With production hard at work, casting rumors for the upcoming pilot for “The Flash” have leaked online.

“As smart as she is beautiful,” is one of the descriptions in the role production is seeking. The source says that production is looking to cast a young African American female between the age of 22 and 28. Spoiler TV goes on to say that, Iris is in grad school studying psychology. She’s also Barry’s mile a minute, fast-talking, quick-witted best friend. Her father, Detective West, took in Barry when his mother was murdered, and his father was wrongly accused and imprisoned for her murder. In a tough childhood for Barry, she was the one “not tough” thing. She’s unaware of Barry’s strong feelings for her.”

Two actresses that are rumored to being considered are newcomer Christine Shepherd and Tessa Thompson. Production is expected to make a decision and announcement early February.

As for the role of Detective West, the only one in talks for the role is Ernie Hudson. Casting is looking for a male in his late 40s - early 50s, African American. The character is described as, “A soulful, funny, caring father to Iris, and a surrogate father to Barry.” If you can't wait to find out what happens next, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to catch the latest spoilers on your newsfeed!
